Off to Paris

5 days ago my sister (Yeya) left to live and work in Paris, how exciting is that? she has always been such a go-getter and doors are always opening for her. I'm so proud of all the things she has accomplished and she has been a great role model. Even though we are 11 years apart and by the time I was in 2nd grade she was already out of the house and in college, she was always someone I look up to. I have been truly blessed to have the siblings I do. I will miss her.
A few weekends ago my family all gathered together to say goodbye to Yeya, (and to eat my aunts amazing Frijoles, with chicharron, patacones and all the goodies we all love.Hands down the best Frijoles!)
It was awesome to take a family picture that we hadnt done in.... I don't know..... ever (mom was missing from the picture, I guess we can photoshop her somewhere in there)

Love you Sis

Beach Day

My favorite part of summer in Miami, is being able to go to beautiful beaches that are only minutes away. We went with the Bellistons and Russ to Dania beach with the intention that the boys were going to go scuba diving and the girls would be tanning in the beach. The weather, however, did not cooperate. The boys were not able to dive, so they ended up staying with us. we had a lot of fun at the beach.

July 4th

This year 4th of July landed dead center in the week, which made it very hard to plan a good activity. We took the boat and jet ski out with Oscar’s family. His parents as well as well as Jonathan and Silvia came along. It was a beautiful day, sun was beaming, water was gorgeous, a perfect way to celebrate this great nation we live in.  I’m very blessed to have the opportunity to live here; many people sacrifice much to come to this country, for it offers many opportunities.
We were out for so long that when we finally came back home and showered, we were all too tired to watch the fireworks. It was a great 4th!

Miami Heat 2012 Champions

Basketball season has been over for a while, but I've been so busy that have not have time to post anything. This past season was a great one, watched every game, celebrated every win, and suffered with each loss. Ultimately the Miami Heat came out on top by beating the Thunder and winning the championship.
Here are some pictures taken during the 2011- 2012 season. I can't wait till next season.

"Let's Go HEAT!"

Kim's Birthday Weekend

At 5 o'clock on Thursday evening Oscar and I grabbed our stuff and headed to Orlando, to celebrate Kim's birthday.  We were excited to get away but also because we would be spending time with the Hoffmann's.  We arrived at Orlando a little after the Heat Vs. Thunder finals game 2 had started, luckily they had paused the game so that we could watch it all.  Off course we went to sleep late that night. On Friday morning (Kim's Birthday) we went to have breakfast at Keke's Cafe. The food was great! Then we went around shopping, our main goal was to visit a consignment store Kim had been wanting to go to.  We had a lot of fun that afternoon walking around beautiful winter park, the shops and scenery were great, from the store with all of the old school candies, to the yummy pastries and gelato we ate.

To finish off the day we went to have dinner at CafĂ© Tu Tu Tango. Awesome place, there used to be one in Miami, but it’s gone now.  Great food (tapas) and the fun atmosphere is the best part of it all. We met there with Kim’s parents and Cata & Franco.
Tu Tu Tango = Fun Time
Early on Saturday morning we got our stuff ready and headed about 2 hours to Fort De Soto, for a fun day at the beach.  We had a great time: beach, friends, food, and laughter!
Kim’s birthday weekend was a lot of fun. I’m glad we were able to celebrate with her, and I wish her an amazing year!

Miami Marlins

This is the first season the Miami Marlins are playing in their new Ballpark. I must admit I'm not a huge baseball fan, okay fine I'm not a baseball fan at all. I don't dislike the sport, but it is much too slow to sit and watch. Now playing it is a different story. Anyway, I got a call from Krysta asking if Oscar and I wanted to go a Marlins game, Devin had gotten some free tickets at work and they were going. Obviously we could not say no, plus Oscar and I both really wanted to go see the new stadium. We really enjoyed our time there, although I didn't pay much attention to the game. Towards the end of the game we started to walk around inside the stadium to see all it had, I was highly impressed on what a great job they did with the new Marlins Park. It is even enjoyable for those of us that are not big baseball fans.

Minute To Win It

Once again we had another fun game night with the Russ (Annalee & Blake) and the Belliston (Krysta & Devin). We decided to have Minute to Win It challenges, if you have never seen the show Google it! We had a lot of fun, tons of laughs and discovered hidden talents. Game nights with the Russ & Belliston are always very fun. Here are some of the pictures & video from the night.  I look forward to a Minute to Win It round 2!
